The Community of St. Josef of Arimathea (CJA)

is a brotherhood of clergymen and an ecumenical fellowship of men, women and families whose members pray in the liturgical tradition of the Ukrainian Lutheran Church together and for each other. This includes the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, Vespers and other services of the Byzantine-Slavonic tradition.
The CJA wants to adapt the richness of Eastern Christian spirituality, liturgy and theology by the way of praying, to make good use of the results of the theological dialogues between Lutheran and Orthodox churches and to promote the studies of the Eastern Churches.

The CJA ist open for relations to representatives of a spiritual ecumenism.
The CJA was founded in 2003 by students of courses in Eastern Church Studies at the Theological Faculty of Heidelberg (former name: Estern Rite Community).
The CJA is part of "Treffen Geistlicher Gemeinschaften in der EKD".
